Samsung Electronics and five affiliates will invest a combined $1 billion in U.S. AI infrastructure company Helix Digital Infrastructure, lifting the platform's total pledged investment above $11 billion. Samsung Electronics will provide $500 million, with Samsung C&T, Samsung SDS, Samsung SDI, Samsung Life Insurance and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance contributing the remainder. Helix was established by KKR in June and counts KKR, Nvidia, Vistra and the Kuwait Investment Authority as founding investors. Led by former Amazon Web Services CEO Adam Selipsky, the company provides integrated AI data-center development, power, transmission, distribution, optical and network infrastructure. Samsung plans to combine its semiconductor, cooling, battery, construction and data-center capabilities with Helix's partners, seeking a larger role in projects for major technology companies and increased sales of components including high-bandwidth memory.
