Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang received the 2026 Van Fleet Award at the Korea Society’s annual gala in New York on September 28, recognizing his leadership in artificial intelligence and semiconductors and his contribution to Korea-U.S. relations. Samsung Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong and SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won attended the event, while Samsung ran congratulatory videos in Times Square. Their support underscored Nvidia’s importance to both groups as Samsung Electronics and SK hynix supply high-bandwidth memory and other advanced chips for Nvidia AI accelerators. Samsung is also manufacturing Nvidia’s Groq 3 language processing units through its foundry business and deploying Nvidia GPUs in its operations, while SK Group is expanding cooperation on AI data centers, chip supplies and AI memory solutions.
