ZC (Zipcoin), an ETH ecosystem meme coin linked to Vitalik Buterin’s newly released open-source novel Snowmoon, briefly reached a $20.89 million market capitalization before falling to about $14.34 million, after its intraday gain exceeded 41-fold. Traders also created tokens based on the novel’s title, currency and AI assistant, including $SNOWMOON, $ZC and $EMERALD. ZC’s launch on STOCKER briefly drove $STOCKER up about 10-fold. Snowmoon’s fictional currency system includes anonymous payments, token burning to publish high-value information, a Doorstep Burn mechanism for costly signaling and automated taxation. The market activity prompted speculation that the novel disguises a privacy-coin white paper, although that interpretation remains unconfirmed.
