Australian biotechnology firm CSL is collaborating with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon’s cloud computing arm, to deploy AI and cloud technology across its research and clinical development pipeline. The partnership will help scientists analyze complex scientific data, identify potential drug targets earlier, and accelerate research while shortening development timelines. CSL also plans to use AWS tools to reduce manual work in protocol drafting, data management and regulatory submission processes. The company aims to connect laboratory experiments and computational research more closely so findings can inform models and decisions faster. The collaboration follows US President Donald Trump’s announcement in early September of a new round of drug-pricing agreements with international pharmaceutical companies, including CSL. In mid-August, CSL reported better-than-expected annual underlying earnings and forecast growth in 2027, supported by its core plasma division. CSL shares were largely unchanged at A$181.9 as of 0023 GMT.
