An early Ethereum investor transferred 1,000 ETH worth $2.68 million to a Kraken deposit address after a wallet dormant for about nine years became active. The address bought 3,000 ETH at an average $18.8 in 2017, withdrawing the tokens from Gemini for an initial investment of $56,500, Lookonchain said. The investor has sold 2,000 ETH at an average price of $3,096 for $6.19 million in proceeds, while retaining 1,000 ETH worth $2.67 million. Lookonchain reported profit of $8.8 million, or a 156-fold return, on the sold portion. Profit-taking has coincided with Ethereum's reported 72.7% gain in Q3 2026, while spot Ethereum ETFs recorded seven consecutive days of net inflows totaling more than $689.8 million during the latest reporting week.
