Celltrion will use CPHI Worldwide in Milan on Oct. 6-8 to pursue partnerships in new drug development, contract manufacturing and pharmaceutical supply chains. The Korean biopharmaceutical company, best known for biosimilars (lower-cost versions of biologic drugs after patent expiry), will focus on oncology, obesity and metabolic diseases, and autoimmune diseases, where it says its research has recently begun producing results. Celltrion also plans to strengthen relationships with overseas raw-material suppliers and contract manufacturers, diversify its supply chain and reduce costs as demand for its main products grows. It will seek additional CDMO (contract development and manufacturing organization) partnerships, offering expertise in antibody-drug development and production capacity. More than 60,000 professionals from about 2,400 companies in roughly 170 countries are expected at the 37th-year event. Celltrion will maintain its own booth for the fifth straight year since 2022.
