South Korea’s Celltrion will buy back 560,853 shares worth about 100 billion won, with open-market purchases scheduled from Sept. 30 through Dec. 29. The decision raises the company’s planned treasury-share repurchases this year to 2,135,262 shares, cumulatively valued at 400 billion won. Celltrion said the stock is undervalued relative to its intrinsic value and medium- to long-term growth potential, making the repurchase a measure to support the share price and enhance shareholder value. The company had previously resolved to cancel treasury shares worth about 100 billion won. It will gather shareholder views at its regular shareholders’ meeting in March 2027 before deciding whether to cancel the newly acquired shares or expand cash dividends. Celltrion aims to return about one-third of annual consolidated net income to shareholders through cancellations or dividends, while considering earnings, distributable profit, surplus cash flow, share-price levels and investment needs.
