Samsung Electro-Mechanics announced a supply agreement worth approximately 290 billion won ($210 million) with a large global corporation for multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) and inductors used in artificial intelligence servers. Deliveries are scheduled over one year, from January through December next year. The agreement is the company’s fifth disclosed long-term contract this year, bringing its AI-related long-term supply agreements to roughly 3.6 trillion won. Samsung Electro-Mechanics said it holds more than 40% of the AI server MLCC market and has agreements with more than 10 global companies, while pursuing additional deals. Goldman Sachs expects that market to expand from $1.4 billion in 2025 to $5.8 billion in 2030. The company reported second-quarter revenue of 3.46 trillion won and operating profit of 440.4 billion won, up 107% from a year earlier, supported by data-center MLCCs and high-value semiconductor substrates. An earlier disclosure described the contract as worth 285 billion won and running through Dec. 31, 2027, creating an unresolved discrepancy over its value and term. The counterparty has not been named.
