Lindt & Sprüngli lowered its full-year 2026 organic sales growth forecast to 0%-2% from 4%-6%, its second reduction in six months, citing subdued consumer confidence, price-sensitive customers and weak demand in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Chief executive officer Adalbert Lechner said the company would cut prices for Christmas products and across its range from January. Lindt shares fell as much as 8% in Zurich, while they had already declined by more than a quarter in 2026 through Sept. 28. The company maintained its 2026 target for a 20-40 basis point improvement in EBIT margin from the previous year. Lindt expects positive volume growth in 2027 as lower cocoa costs begin to flow through, pricing changes support demand and the company increases brand investment. It is also investing in ice-cream equipment and considering cooled products for stores as summers become hotter.
