DB Group (012030) is advancing a group-wide artificial intelligence transformation after Founder and Chairman Kim Joon-ki and Group Chairman Lee Su-kwang reviewed its strategy and affiliate projects. The leaders attended the DB Group AI Strategy Report Session on the 29th at the DB Financial Center in Seoul's Daechi-dong, where executives discussed the group's AI transformation blueprint, major application cases and new businesses. DB Group has spent several years preparing for AI by creating related organizations, an advisory board and multiple working-level task forces. Its portfolio spans system semiconductor foundry and fabless operations, information technology, trading, real estate development, insurance, finance, manufacturing and services, allowing it to connect AI capabilities with data-rich operating businesses. Three task forces, including the Group AI Advisory Board, reported progress on AI data centers, AI agents and AI solutions. Plans include using group-owned land and downtown buildings for data centers serving both AI model training and inference close to users. The AI agent effort will be led by the AX promotion office within DB INC's IT division, while AI solutions cover an advanced semiconductor design and process project with the On-Device Research Center at Sungkyunkwan University, AI OCR at DB Insurance (005830), and Vecta, an AI platform developed largely by DB INC's IT division for insurance applications. DB Group is also seeking early access to core technologies through external investments and has invested in six venture companies with leading technologies such as AI.
