The South Korean won strengthened 8.4 won against the U.S. dollar to 1,356.7 at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, supported by dollar sales from local exporters at month-end. The gain was limited by rising oil prices as expectations faded for negotiations to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Foreign investors sold a net 2.9 trillion won ($2.14 billion) in local stocks, while the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index fell 0.27% to 6,870.81.
