Ethereum’s Glamsterdam upgrade is scheduled to activate on the Sepolia testnet at epoch 353,024 and slot 11,296,768 on October 6, 2026, at 13:53:36 UTC. The combined Gloas consensus-layer and Amsterdam execution-layer fork centers on enshrined proposer-builder separation and block-level access lists, alongside revised gas accounting and other changes intended to support greater Layer 1 capacity without making validation prohibitively demanding. The Ethereum Foundation has not set activation dates for the validator-focused Hoodi testnet or mainnet. Core developer Parithosh Jayanthi said Glamsterdam could be Ethereum’s largest fork since the Merge because it changes key network assumptions and prepares further scaling. ETH has risen 14% over the past two weeks amid a broader rally in crypto and risk assets, though higher Treasury yields have created a more difficult and potentially volatile market backdrop.
