Tesla said Croatia has approved its supervised Full Self-Driving system and that deployment will begin shortly, making the country the fourth European nation to authorize the technology after the Netherlands, Belgium and Slovenia. Tesla shares fell 4% on Tuesday following the announcement. Dutch regulator RDW, which granted initial approval in April, has recommended authorization across all 27 EU member states, but safety organizations and several governments remain concerned about speed-limit compliance. An EU-wide vote initially expected in October has been delayed, with December now the anticipated timeframe. Approval requires a qualified majority of at least 15 member states representing 65% of the EU population. Tesla considers the technology important to strengthening its European position and addressing competition from Chinese electric-vehicle manufacturers.
