Scorpio Tankers Inc. agreed to sell three scrubber-fitted product tankers for a combined $180.5 million and purchase four newbuildings for a combined $415.6 million. The sales cover the 2014-built MR tanker STI Dama for $37.5 million, the 2014-built LR2 tanker STI Elysees for $70 million and the 2015-built LR2 tanker STI Veneto for $73 million, with closings expected before the end of 2026. The purchases comprise two scrubber-fitted LR2 tankers priced at $72.8 million each and two scrubber-fitted VLCCs priced at $135 million each. The LR2s are expected to be built by Jiangsu Hantong Ship Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. in China for delivery in October and November 2029, while the VLCCs are expected from Hengli Shipbuilding (Dalian) Co., Ltd. for delivery in September and October 2028. Scorpio Tankers currently owns 74 product tankers and has additional newbuilding agreements or letters of intent covering five MR tankers, eight LR2s and four VLCCs.
