Exus acquires 715 MWp of solar projects as data-center demand grows

  • Exus acquired four solar projects from ibV in Wisconsin and Louisiana.
  • The projects total 715 MWp across three named developments.
  • Exus said it will advance the projects through their next development stages.

Exus Renewables North America acquired four solar projects totaling 715 MWp from ibV Energy Partners on September 29, expanding its portfolio across Wisconsin and Louisiana. The projects comprise Maple Grove Solar 1 and 2, a 310 MWp development in Barron County, Wisconsin; Bayou Teche Solar, a 125 MWp project in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana; and Bayou Chicot Solar, a 280 MWp project in Evangeline Parish, Louisiana. Exus plans to advance the projects through their next development stages and is discussing electricity sales with data-center customers, including Big Tech hyperscalers, and utilities serving data-center load. The projects are considered attractive because they may interconnect relatively quickly in markets where demand is outpacing available generation. Exus CEO Jim Spencer expects to secure offtake agreements within four to six weeks. No financial terms were disclosed.
