House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer expanded an investigation into potential insider trading on prediction markets, requesting records from Hyperliquid Labs, Crypto.com and Aristotle Exchange, which operates PredictIt. The companies must respond by October 13 with information on customer verification, geographic restrictions, trading surveillance and controls intended to identify trades based on nonpublic or classified information. The inquiry cites an April indictment alleging that Army Master Sgt. Gannon Ken Van Dyke used classified intelligence about Operation Absolute Resolve to generate more than $409,000 through Polymarket wagers; he has pleaded not guilty. Comer also cited a roughly $1.1 billion leveraged Bitcoin and Ethereum perpetual-futures short opened about 30 hours before President Donald Trump's October 2025 tariff announcement. The position generated more than $150 million in profit, but the committee has not identified the trader or established that the trader had advance knowledge. The inquiry, which began with Polymarket and Kalshi in May 2026, has produced nearly 1,000 documents and five briefings.
