Apple CEO John Ternus is considering a faster, less rigid product strategy and organizational changes that would reduce management layers and give engineering teams more direct access to senior leaders, Bloomberg reported. The company is weighing a move away from its usual spring and fall product-release cycle while allowing teams more scope to test new ideas. Apple has also eliminated several engineering program manager roles in its hardware organization, affecting about six directors, while reducing staffing around Vision Pro and Siri and cutting some Fitness+ roles. A proposal to eliminate about 5,000 AppleCare customer-service jobs was paused during the summer. Ternus succeeded Tim Cook as CEO earlier this month, with Cook becoming executive chairman, as Apple faces higher memory costs, weaker services growth and pressure to improve operating efficiency.
