Robinhood is expanding its European perpetual futures offering beyond cryptocurrencies to include commodities, exchange-traded funds and foreign-exchange pairs. Eligible customers can trade contracts linked to gold, crude oil, QQQ, EWY and EUR/USD with up to 10x leverage and access to markets 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Perpetual futures allow traders to speculate on an asset's price without owning it and do not expire. Funding rates, which are periodic payments between long and short traders, help keep the contracts aligned with the underlying spot price. Robinhood initially offered Bitcoin and Ethereum perpetual futures before adding XRP, DOGE, SOL and SUI with leverage of up to 7x. Crypto perpetual futures became one of the platform's fastest-growing products after its European rollout. The expansion forms part of Robinhood's broader international push, which includes pursuing crypto trading capabilities in the UK, entering Canada through its acquisition of WonderFi and seeking a capital markets service license in Singapore. The company is also developing Robinhood Chain, a Layer-2 blockchain for tokenized assets, with a public mainnet launch in the pipeline. In eligible regions, Robinhood Wallet users can access decentralized perpetual futures through the Lighter exchange, with incentive structures linked to the $LIT token.
