Japanese stocks recovered from a two-session decline as sharply lower oil prices eased inflation concerns after Saudi Arabia restored around half of its East-West pipeline capacity and the Trump administration ordered another release of emergency reserves. The Nikkei 225 Index climbed 1% to above 66,000, while the broader Topix Index rose 0.8% to 4,073. Technology shares led the rebound, including gains of 2.2% for Kioxia Holdings, 4% for SoftBank Group, 1.8% for Advantest, 5.3% for Taiyo Yuden and 4.5% for Fujikura. Investors also assessed weaker domestic data: Japan’s industrial production unexpectedly fell in August and retail-sales growth missed expectations. Elevated bond yields remained a source of pressure, while the Nikkei was on track to finish the month largely unchanged. An earlier update had reported a 1.5% gain to 66,460.68, alongside advances in Tokyo Electron, Mizuho Financial Group and Sumitomo Metal Mining.
