Toss Securities will begin offering integrated quotes for U.S. stocks on Sept. 30, combining bid and ask prices from Blue Ocean and Bruce, two Alternative Trading Systems (ATSs), on a single screen. The latest update describes the service as covering overnight trading, while the earlier account characterized it as daytime trading and said the system overhaul began at 9 a.m. Previously, Toss Securities relied solely on Blue Ocean’s quote feed. The integrated model is intended to broaden quote access and provide an alternative source if one ATS experiences an interruption. Unlike firms that use Bruce only for stocks unavailable on Blue Ocean, Toss Securities displays quotes from both venues across all supported stocks. Because the venues’ quotes are integrated without modification, identical prices may appear more than once and the displayed sell price may occasionally fall below the buy price. Toss Securities said those displays do not represent system errors or disadvantage customers, as its Smart Order Routing (SOR) system automatically seeks the most favorable execution price. Customer order execution methods and procedures remain unchanged.
