Jeonbuk Bank completes stablecoin remittance proof of concept on Solana

  • Jeonbuk Bank completed a Solana private-channel stablecoin remittance proof of concept.
  • The test covered won conversion, escrow, settlement and overseas payout for foreign workers.
  • Jeonbuk Bank plans Bravo Korea integration after digital-asset regulation and won stablecoins advance.

Jeonbuk Bank, part of South Korea’s JB Financial Group, completed a proof of concept on 30 September 2026 for cross-border stablecoin remittances through a Solana private channel, working with the Solana Foundation and blockchain infrastructure firm Node Infra. The test ran in the bank’s real operating environment and covered a Korean won on-ramp, stablecoin exchange, escrow deposit, channel settlement and overseas payout for a foreign worker sending wages home. The bank did not identify the stablecoins or destination country. Its private-channel design kept customer and transaction details off the public chain while allowing settlement against Solana mainnet liquidity. Jeonbuk Bank said it plans to connect the system to its Bravo Korea remittance app only after South Korea’s digital-asset law is in place and won-denominated stablecoins are in circulation. The test follows similar stablecoin initiatives by Toss Bank and Shinhan Bank and comes alongside Jeonbuk Bank’s separate partnership with Ripple Payments.
