Aave founder Stani Kulechov said the protocol was considering burning AAVE tokens acquired through its buyback program after cumulative protocol revenue reached $3 billion. Under the existing model, revenue is used to purchase AAVE from the market, but the tokens remain within the DAO ecosystem rather than being permanently removed from circulation. A burn would create a permanent supply-reduction mechanism. Separately, two anonymous whale addresses beginning with 0xdc87 and 0xC335 swapped 50.95 WBTC for 25,502 AAVE worth about $4.26 million, in a transaction reported by Lookonchain using Arkham data. CryptoQuant data showed Exchange Reserve USD rising 6.26% to roughly $440 million over 24 hours, potentially increasing the tokens available on exchanges. AAVE traded at $161.93 after sellers rejected a move near $165.98. The token remained above its rising trendline and the $141.48 support level, while DMI showed +DI at 37.16, -DI at 12.65 and ADX at 34.27. A confirmed break above $165.98 could put $180 in focus, while another rejection could drive a deeper retracement toward trendline support.
