Manchester City faces pressure on its leadership after an independent commission found the Premier League club guilty of serious financial breaches. The Premier League said the club used sham commercial contracts in schemes that inflated revenue and understated costs by more than £900 million ($1.19 billion) over nearly a decade. City denies wrongdoing and plans to appeal by Friday. No sanction has been imposed, but possible penalties include fines, a points deduction or relegation. Former chairman David Bernstein said the board, including the chief executive, should stand down or be suspended and that a fine would not be sufficient if the charges survive an appeal.
