AbbVie reported clinical-trial progress across its immunology and metabolic-disease portfolios, including Phase 2 results for zumilokibart in moderate to severe atopic dermatitis and Phase 1 results for ABBV-295, an investigational long-acting amylin analog for chronic weight management. In the 16-week APEX Part B study, all evaluated zumilokibart doses produced statistically significant improvements in skin clearance and itch reduction versus placebo among 346 adults. High- and mid-dose regimens also met key secondary endpoints including EASI 90/100 skin clearance and I-NRS4 itch scores, with the mid-dose group showing skin-severity improvement by Week 1 and itch relief by Week 2. In a separate multiple ascending dose study, ABBV-295 produced dose-dependent body-weight reductions of 7.8% to 9.8% over 12 to 13 weeks across weekly, every-other-week and monthly regimens, compared with a 0.3% reduction for placebo. The drug had a mean half-life of 10.7 to 12.3 days, and most adverse events were mild, with no serious treatment-emergent adverse events reported. AbbVie shares were up 0.16% at $263.71 at the time of publication, according to Benzinga Pro data.
