American Express launched its new Amex Corporate offering on Sept. 30, pairing Corporate Cashback cards with an overhauled Amex Expense mobile app for mid-sized companies. The platform automates receipt matching and expense categorization, provides real-time spend tracking and proactive recommendations, and is designed to reduce administrative work for finance teams. American Express plans to add AI agents through SMS and Slack later this fall to prompt employees about missing receipts and reconciliation tasks, while also supporting accounts-payable workflows. The offering follows the company’s April 16 agreement to acquire Hyper, an AI-driven expense-management startup whose technology focuses on categorization, compliance monitoring and filing reminders; the deal was expected to close in the second quarter of 2026. American Express shares, identified by the ticker AXP, were down 0.30%.
