Prime Minister Han Seong-sook ordered the government to improve the visibility and predictability of housing supply, saying the public must be able to see progress from construction starts through sales and occupancy. Han made the remarks while presiding over the 3rd Pan-Governmental Rapid Housing Supply Inspection Meeting at Government Complex Seoul on the afternoon of the 30th, alongside Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economy Lee Hyoung-il, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Hong Jee-sun, Minister of Planning and Budget Park Hong-keun and Senior Economic Advisor to Cheong Wa Dae Ha Joon-kyung. The government will hold its first regular housing-supply briefing on Oct. 16 and continue every two weeks at 11 a.m. every other Friday. The Second Deputy Prime Minister for Policy Coordination, the Vice Minister for Transport and other relevant vice ministers will present detailed updates and answer reporters' questions, with additional updates possible from the Housing Supply Promotion Headquarters. The government had previously announced that Han would oversee housing supply and establish a housing supply dashboard. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has since created a Rapid Supply Innovation Team, while the Office for Government Policy Coordination established a Housing Rapid Supply Inspection Team. Existing measures include ministry coordination on a provisional Housing Supply Digital Dashboard, designated personnel at more than 300 project sites and plans for an integrated housing supply support center. Han said Seoul's general-housing construction starts and permits had risen 60–70% year on year, but overall progress remained insufficient.
