AIB Data Centers has secured a binding agreement to provide Nebius with 50 MW of critical IT capacity at its CLT-01 campus in South Carolina. The initial term is 12 years, with optional renewals that could increase the agreement’s value, although financial terms were not disclosed. The capacity is backed by 65 MW of utility power under an existing 15-year Electric Service Agreement and will be delivered across two data halls. Revenue is expected to begin in the second half of 2027, with annual escalators of 3% or increases tied to the Consumer Price Index, whichever applies. Customer prepayments, project-level debt and preferred equity are expected to fund a substantial portion of development costs, reducing AIB’s anticipated need for corporate-level common equity. AIB’s shares rose 1.11% intraday as of 10:20 a.m. ET after the announcement, revising the earlier reported decline of 12.28% to $1.50. The company, formerly known as BlockchAIn Digital Infrastructure, decommissioned its Bitcoin mining equipment and raised approximately $63 million through an equity offering to support its transition. A recent Texas acquisition brought AIB’s total contracted power capacity to approximately 120 MW, while its broader development pipeline is approximately 570 MW, including roughly 140 MW at the South Carolina site. Nebius has more than 3.5 GW under contract and is targeting over 4 GW by the end of 2026. Andrey Korolenko, Nebius’s chief product and infrastructure officer, said time-to-power is the binding constraint on AI infrastructure and that AIB’s power position provides a path to bringing capacity online for customers.
