Google launched the screen-less Fitbit Air fitness tracker in India for ₹13,999, roughly $146, compared with $99 in the U.S. Unveiled in May, the device tracks heart activity, blood oxygen, sleep and other health metrics, while its display-free design targets consumers seeking fewer screen distractions. It will be sold from October 2 through the Google Store and retail partners, with a free three-month Google Health premium membership. The launch comes as screen-less wearables gain a niche despite declining wristband shipments, although India represents only 5% of that market and the premium pricing could limit its broader impact.
