Hana Financial Group has completed its new headquarters in Cheongna International City, Incheon, beginning the Cheongna era after 14 years of development and preparation. About 2,200 employees from 10 affiliates will move in on a rolling basis through year-end, joining staff at the group’s integrated data center to bring the site’s finance and IT workforce to roughly 4,000. Hana is the first of South Korea’s four major financial groups to relocate its headquarters outside Seoul. The building spans seven basement levels and 15 above-ground floors, with 128,503 square meters of total floor area and roughly 3,600 square meters of usable space per office floor. Its open-plan design, internal connections and smart work center are intended to encourage collaboration across affiliates and departments. The associated data center houses 650 server units, monitors cyber threats across 22 affiliates and analyzes about 1 billion records daily. Hana estimates the relocation will generate about 3.4 trillion won ($2.4 billion) in direct and indirect economic impact over the next 10 years.
