uniQure shares fell approximately 37.3%, from $39.11 to $24.51, after the company reported weaker 48-month data for AMT-130, its lead gene-therapy candidate for Huntington’s disease. The treatment showed 44% slowing of disease progression on the composite Uniform Huntington’s Disease Rating Scale, compared with 75% at 36 months. The existing data included missing information and were not statistically significant. Kirby McInerney LLP is investigating whether uniQure or members of its senior management violated federal securities laws or engaged in other unlawful business practices; no lawsuit has been filed. The probe follows uniQure’s September 2 submission of a Biologics License Application to the FDA based on its 36-month analysis, after the company announced plans to seek approval in June.
