Sui has removed 3,023 impersonation and phishing threats through its partnership with ChainPatrol, a security firm that identifies fake accounts and scam websites. The effort is part of Sui’s $10 million Ecosystem Security Expansion Initiative, which supports protection for more than 30 projects building on the network. ChainPatrol monitors the web, X, Discord, Telegram, social media, app stores and digital wallets. By mid-November 2025, it had blocked 842 unique threats linked to Sui-related projects and completed takedowns across more than 11 platforms, making the latest total more than three times that figure. The firm uses artificial intelligence and image recognition to detect copycat accounts that reuse project branding, including cases where names are slightly changed. Its findings are also added to wallet blocking lists, allowing wallets to warn users or reject connections to known phishing sites. ChainPatrol has reported 3,129 blocked threats for another Web3 partner, placing Sui’s 3,023 threats in a similar low-thousands range. The initiative gives smaller Sui-based teams access to professional threat monitoring funded through an ecosystem-wide program. Research on the initiative suggests it could strengthen confidence in Sui projects and may support user adoption, although those effects have not been measured.
