RippleX has opened the LendingProtocolV1_1 amendment for XRP Ledger validator voting, moving the network closer to native lending. The proposal introduces closed-ended Single Asset Vaults and cash-basis accounting, which recognizes interest when borrowers make payments rather than when loans are created. Single Asset Vaults can pool XRP, trust line-issued tokens or Multi-Purpose Tokens from multiple depositors for use by another protocol. LendingProtocolV1_1 must activate alongside LendingProtocol and SingleAssetVault before lending can operate on mainnet. Activation requires support from more than 80% of trusted validators for two consecutive weeks; if support falls to 80% or below, the countdown resets. The design follows earlier work on XLS-65 and XLS-66, while borrower checks and credit decisions would remain outside the XRP Ledger and loan activity would be recorded on-chain. The amendment was included in xrpld 3.4.0, released on September 16, before the release of version 3.4.1 on September 25.
