Piramal Pharma Solutions (PPS), Piramal Pharma Ltd.’s contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), will invest $5.314 million to modernize its active pharmaceutical ingredient production site in Aurora, Canada. The Ontario government is contributing $1,753,620 through the Life Sciences Scale-Up Fund (LSSUF), enabling PPS to expand research and development and clinical production, commercialize Ontario-made health technologies in new markets, and support domestic pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing. The project is expected to create 12 jobs and preserve 183 existing positions. Launched in 2024 with an initial $24 million budget, the LSSUF works alongside Ontario’s Health Innovation Pathway and has since received an additional $24 million allocation. The program is intended to advance Phase 2 of Ontario’s life sciences strategy and strengthen the province’s global position in health innovation, bio manufacturing and life sciences.
