GE Vernova shares rose 4.58% to $994.05 Thursday as investors assessed September developments including an amicable settlement of Vineyard Wind litigation, a long-term Egyptian turbine-services contract and a U.S. nuclear permitting milestone. On September 29, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued the Tennessee Valley Authority a construction permit for a BWRX-300 small modular reactor at its Clinch River site in Tennessee, the first domestic permit for the design. The permit authorizes licensed construction activities and indicates that the advanced nuclear design meets current U.S. requirements for safety and construction readiness. The project strengthens GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy’s nuclear position alongside GE Vernova’s grid, generation and storage businesses. Simply Wall St described the permit as supporting a higher-margin infrastructure-backlog thesis while citing permitting, policy and execution risks, one warning sign, 18 nuclear energy infrastructure stocks for comparison and a $1,236 fair value in its broader valuation discussion. It said the analysis was not investment advice and that it had no position in the stocks mentioned.
