Democrats have widened their lead in Kalshi's market on U.S. Senate control, reaching 63% from 49% on Sept. 14, while Republicans are at 39%. The market's pricing comes as outside groups spend heavily in competitive contests, including Michigan, Ohio and New Hampshire. The Washington Post identified nine Senate races that could change party control, including six Republican-to-Democratic possibilities in North Carolina, Ohio, Maine, Alaska, Iowa and Texas. Democrats currently hold 47 Senate seats to Republicans' 53 and would need to retain all their seats while winning four Republican-held seats, including at least two in states Donald Trump won by double digits in 2024. Kalshi's congressional balance-of-power market also places a Democratic sweep first at 62%, ahead of divided control with a Democratic House and Republican Senate at 28%, and a Republican sweep at 8%.
