NIGHT, the native token of Cardano-linked privacy blockchain project Midnight, has risen for eight consecutive days and gained roughly 86% over seven days, reaching about $0.044-$0.048 at different reported readings. The rally began near $0.022 on September 24 and continued despite declines in much of the wider crypto market, including Zcash, Monero and Cardano. Momentum has coincided with Midnight’s approaching smart-contract rollout: Node 1.0.3 was released on September 26, Node 1.0.4 was due shortly on mainnet, and Midnight Foundation CTO Sebastien Guillemot said v8 enables private smart contracts while the composability upgrade, v9, could arrive this year. Earlier market data showed a market capitalization near $727 million, volume above $120 million and resistance around $0.045. Attention has also focused on selective-disclosure privacy, Google Cloud and Mandiant infrastructure support, Monument Bank’s planned £250 million first-phase tokenized-deposit project, and Charles Hoskinson’s forward-looking view that Midnight could eventually become larger than Zcash.
