LG Electronics will invest 150 billion won ($110 million) to build a chiller factory in Windsor, Virginia, and expand production at Pyeongtaek and Changwon in South Korea as AI data centers increase demand for cooling equipment. The Virginia site will cover 170,000 square meters and include about 30,000 square meters of manufacturing space, with air-cooled chiller production scheduled for the first half of 2027. LG is broadening its "Chip-to-Chiller" offering to include chillers, coolant distribution units, cold plates and direct-to-chip liquid cooling. The company also joined the Nvidia Partner Network as a preferred partner for power and cooling solutions, while its 2.6-megawatt coolant distribution unit qualified under Nvidia's DSX AI Factory infrastructure program. Omdia projects global data-center capacity will rise from 226 gigawatts in 2026 to 420 gigawatts by 2030, with North America accounting for roughly 60% of added capacity.
