Celltrion is expanding Aptozma sales beyond Europe’s five major markets through successive tender wins in Norway, Finland and the Netherlands. Aptozma, a biosimilar whose active ingredient is tocilizumab, treats rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks the synovium, causing inflammation and pain. Celltrion secured Aptozma through a Norwegian national bid and aims to capture 85% of Norway’s market. The company also won a bid covering eastern Finland, while Dutch hospital purchasing groups have ordered Aptozma since March. Celltrion has established overseas subsidiaries and a direct-sales network. In Denmark, it supplies Omlyclo for asthma and hives, with the product expected to retain a 98% market share through the end of this year. A Celltrion source said the company is bidding for new products in major Nordic countries and will supply competitive products stably.
