Samsung Electronics raised Galaxy S26 prices in South Korea and the United States as memory semiconductor costs surged, while Huawei announced smartphone price increases attributed to the same pressure. In South Korea, Samsung's October 1 adjustment increased most Galaxy S26 variants by ₩149,600 and the Galaxy S26 Ultra 1TB by ₩276,100, while U.S. prices rose by up to $200. Samsung also increased the base Galaxy Tab S11 price by ₩157,000. The S26 adjustment was the series' second consecutive increase after launch, and leaks suggest the Galaxy S27 base model could cost ₩100,000-₩130,000 more in South Korea, although those figures remain unconfirmed. Analysts linked the increases to AI data-center demand for high-bandwidth memory and server DRAM, which has tightened supplies of mobile DRAM and NAND flash. TrendForce said memory now represents 30%-40% of smartphone component costs, compared with 10%-15% previously. Apple has also raised South Korean prices for the iPhone 17 series and iPhone SE by ₩160,000-₩200,000.
