SBI Savings Bank managing director and head of its future growth office, Shin Joong-hyun, will join a panel on commercializing digital assets in banking at Ripple’s Swell 2026 conference in New York on Oct. 27-29. The event is expected to attract about 1,500 participants and 100 speakers from financial and digital-asset companies. Shin’s participation highlights the savings bank’s review of digital assets as a potential new business line beyond deposits and lending. The session will address the security, scalability and regulatory measures required for commercial deployment, alongside officials from Barclays and Italy’s Intesa Sanpaolo. Swell 2026 will also combine Ripple’s main conference with Apex, focused on the XRP Ledger ecosystem, and UBRI Connect, its academic blockchain program. Discussions will cover XRP exchange-traded funds, settlement, stablecoins, tokenized assets, payments, artificial intelligence, privacy, scaling and decentralized finance.
