Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said his respect for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City’s teams has made him unwilling to comment on the club’s financial rules case. City were found guilty of serious financial breaches by an independent commission on Tuesday, while the club has denied wrongdoing and is expected to appeal; sanctions have not yet been determined. Klopp, 59, previously joked that he would attend a parade if Liverpool were retrospectively awarded titles, but said he no longer felt that way. Liverpool finished one point behind City twice during Klopp’s tenure. He said he remains comfortable with Liverpool’s achievements and would prefer to let the process run its course rather than speculate about possible consequences for City.
