South Korean retailers and furniture companies are expanding after-sales services as price and product selection become less distinctive competitive factors. Lotte Hi-Mart launched Appliance Repair All-Care for customers’ existing appliances, charging 50,000 won for two years and covering repairs across 34 categories, with unlimited claims up to 1 million won annually. The latest account places the launch on the 2nd, while earlier information placed it on the 1st. Hyundai Livart introduced furniture relocation, reinstallation and cleaning services, while Coupang added free warranty and damage insurance for selected furniture purchases and plans to strengthen installation and after-sales support. Shinsegae Casa launched a mattress subscription service with regular maintenance, alongside its Care Plus cleaning plan. The companies are using services during the ownership period to improve customer satisfaction and trust, encourage repeat purchases and create additional revenue, although an industry official said the expansion could raise costs in the short term.
