Boeing secured the U.S. Navy’s F/A-XX sixth-generation fighter program and announced major commercial agreements with Ethiopian Airlines and Japan Airlines. The Navy selected Boeing to design, build and deliver an aircraft intended to replace its F/A-18 Super Hornet fleet, giving Boeing its second sixth-generation fighter program after the Air Force selected the company for the F-47 in 2025. The Navy development contract was previously reported as exceeding $20 billion, although technical and program details remain classified. Ethiopian Airlines ordered eight Boeing 777-8 Freighters and two 777 Freighters, becoming the first African carrier to order the 777-8 Freighter and doubling its 777X family order book. Boeing Global Services also renewed its Integrated Materials Management agreement with Japan Airlines. Boeing is scheduled to report third-quarter 2026 results on Oct. 27, with analysts expecting a loss of 9 cents per share and revenue of $24.99 billion. Shares were up 0.30% at $186.60 in premarket trading Thursday, while analysts maintained a Buy consensus with an average price forecast of $274.44. Boeing is also held by several aerospace and defense ETFs.
