Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) criticized President Donald Trump’s approach to AI regulation after Trump unveiled the White House Accord on Super Intelligence, also known as the Joint Commitment on Frontier Responsibilities. Sanders questioned whether technology executives who could gain trillions of dollars from AI should be trusted to regulate themselves. He also highlighted the combined wealth of Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg and Jensen Huang, which he said exceeds $1.7 trillion. The voluntary accord calls on participating companies to establish internal safeguards and submit their AI systems to independent external reviews.
