Flare has launched Flare Confidential Compute (FCC) on Songbird, allowing smart contracts to use sensitive institutional data without publishing the underlying information onchain. FCC processes private inputs inside a Trusted Execution Environment and returns a signed result that smart contracts can independently verify. Its first live application is Hex Trust’s USDX stablecoin, which combines public and restricted cash reserve data to compare total backing with USDX supply and confirm whether the token is backed 1:1 or better. The system is designed for other confidential institutional use cases, including tokenized-fund NAV calculations, private collateral verification, and credit or compliance checks. FCC is initially available on Songbird, Flare’s canary network, with a separate deployment on Flare planned to follow.
