The Litecoin Foundation and Greywick Digital have signed a memorandum of understanding to create cLTC, a tokenized representation of Litecoin for institutional applications on the Canton Network. The project is being tested on a live testnet and is targeted to go live on Canton by the end of 2026 after reserve addresses, an attestation format and launch procedures are published. Earlier information identified the company as Graywick Digital and said cLTC would use Canton’s CIP-56 token standard, hold LTC in reserve and provide public reserve disclosures with third-party attestation. The Litecoin Foundation will support uses including institutional trading and yield-bearing products. Litecoin has operated since 2011, processed more than 417 million transactions and has more than 77 million of its 84 million capped supply in circulation.
