NIGHT, the native cryptocurrency of Cardano-linked privacy-focused blockchain project Midnight, has risen for eight consecutive days and gained 86% over the past seven days. The rally began on September 24 from $0.022, with the token reaching $0.048 at press time after strong gains on Wednesday and Thursday. Midnight was up 17.66% over 24 hours at $0.044, while a separate October 1 post cited a 22% daily increase. The advance came as most of the wider crypto market declined, including Zcash, Monero and Cardano. Momentum has coincided with Midnight’s smart-contract rollout, with Midnight Foundation CTO Sebastien Guillemot saying v8 will enable private smart contracts and that the composability upgrade, v9, could follow this year. Node 1.0.3 was released on September 26, and Node 1.0.4 is due shortly on the mainnet.
