Separate September 2026 inflation reports showed annual price growth accelerating to 4.55% in Peru’s capital, Lima, from 4.44% in August, and to a preliminary 4.7% in Croatia from 4.2%. Lima’s rate was its fastest in three years and remained above the central bank’s 1%-3% target range for a seventh consecutive month, while Croatia’s increase was led by energy prices. Lima’s monthly consumer price index rose 0.12%, slightly below the 0.14% median consensus, as vehicle fuels climbed 5.2% and lower poultry, seafood and fruit prices partly offset increases. Croatia’s consumer prices rose 0.9% month-on-month after a 0.3% increase in August, with energy prices up 20.5% year-on-year and services prices up 7.6%. The reports concern different jurisdictions and measures, but both identify energy-related pressures as important drivers.
