A Bitcoin wallet inactive since May 2011 transferred 20.43 BTC worth $1.7 million after 15.4 years of dormancy. Arkham tracking linked the coins to Braiins (Slush Pool) payouts worth roughly $3 to $4. Bitcoin received on May 1 and May 8, 2011, was split and sent to SegWit (a lower-data Bitcoin transaction format) addresses in a transaction costing less than $1. The funds have not entered a known exchange deposit address. Earlier transfers from the wallet were labeled as associated with Mt. Gox and Silk Road, both commonly used channels in 2011. The Mt. Gox trustee still holds about 34,500 BTC, while creditors have until October 31, 2026, to submit claims.
