Bitcoin traded at $86,757 on Friday, up 3% over 24 hours and 2% for the week, as weaker-than-expected U.S. employment data increased expectations that the Federal Reserve would hold rates at its Oct. 28 meeting. U.S. stocks also rose, with the Nasdaq gaining as much as 1.74%, while lower Treasury yields and oil prices supported risk assets. September nonfarm payrolls increased by 29,000 versus expectations of about 90,000, unemployment rose to 4.2% and average hourly earnings growth came in below forecasts. CME FedWatch futures put the probability of an October rate hold at 74%, compared with 35.8% a week earlier. Spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $2.65 billion in September and $6.34 billion in the third quarter, partly reversing $5.46 billion of combined outflows in the first two quarters of 2026, although year-to-date net inflows remained below $1 billion.
